Maria Pennanen, Santiment Deutschland, Moderated the morning at the Blockchain Summit in Frankfurt’s Kap Europa.
(Frankfurt, by Maria Pennanen) It was a great pleasure to host a track at the Frankfurtblockchain summit. Keynote was given by Ram Shoham the founder of Accelerator Frankfurt GmbH on possibilities of crowdfunding for startups. The presentation was taking a look back at the ICO fever and the sobering of the market. The basic needs for successful funding have not changed: team, product-market fit, timing, and execution are key. It’s not only about money, but more about strategic investors to help to focus and set milestones. If anything, lots of money can cause a lack of focus, lack of pressure, and the lacking need to listen to expert advice. This is why so many post-ICO projects are underperforming. Nevertheless, the future of crowdfunding looks bright, with vehicles such as STOs, where Liability and Accessibility will create an opening for inclusion into projects currently out of reach to the retail market.
‘Next was a panel with Miguel Vaz, Alireza Siadat, Robby Schwertner [CryptoRobby] and Thomas Hempel. I had the pleasure to moderate the discussion on the hype of ICO, the bursting of the bubble and opportunities that #STO present to the market. In the end the investors will decide if STOs are “sexy” enough for them. Biggest problem still is the user adoption, blockchain needs to create value and real use cases. Thank you to panelists for great insights on blockchain and beyond. “Crypto currencies are just another asset class. I love the concept, not how they were used, but for the great potential in building markets”, Alexander Hoeptner, CEO Boerse Stuttgart Digital Ventures GmbH that is building an ecosystem around digital assets. Great conclusion for the track Blockchain Summit Series! |
